The first annual "HJ's Bike Show" took place at the Chipping Sodbury Rugby Club on the 18th May 2002, with proceeds of £285 going to The Freewheelers charity in Bristol, who deliver urgent medical supplies, by bike around the area helping to save lives.

The day got off to a bit of a damp and breezy start, with much stamping of feet and stuffing of hands into pockets. However as time went on the weather improved slowly and more people and bikes turned up, and the the show got under way.

The Bristol Branch of the CMA donated £395 to NABD from the proceeds of the Holy Joe's Café at the Bonfire Bash, and the Helmet Park at the South West Custom and Classic Show.

Things went fairly smoothly with the exception of the Holy Joe's Café tent blowing away half way through the afternoon! Not to be deterred, and with the urn intact, teas and coffees were still served all day (PS If anyone got it on film we'd love a copy :-)

The Bikes

We took a few pictures of the bikes at the show:

Harley hard-tail chop

A nice paint job and "outstanding" forks on this Harley hard-tail chop.

Winner of the Best Custom and Best in Show trophies.

GSXR street-fighter

A good engineering job on this single-sided rear-ended GSXR street-fighter.

Winner of the Best Adapted trophy.

The Freewheelers

The Freewheelers, blue lights and all.

Show bikes

Some of the bikes lined up for the show.

Laverda Jota

A Laverda Jota at the end of the line-up.

Delivery trike

Now this isn't the kind of trike you normally see at a bike show.

Motorised bicycles

And I wasn't expecting this kind of motor-bike!
